Norah and her friend decided to start a bracelet business. Norah was serious about it. She made a ton of bracelets and went on sales calls in our neighborhood. Then the next day they decided to change their product to perler bead art.
Norah had her end of 2nd grade class party on Friday even though school is not officially out until the next Wednesday. The teacher gave all of the students a bucket full of goodies that they used for crafts and contests during their virtual party.
Rations this week were good and bad. Good: we got a lot of peaches, barbeque baked Lays, pizza, chocolate muffins, and cereal bars. Friday's rations were new and unusual. They gave us pizza crackers, mango juice, sunflower seeds, and craisins. Bad: We received another food bank box full of moldy vegetables. Sick!!

Covid-19 Break Week 8
Here are a few pictures from our week. Norah likes to have a friend with her while she works.
Brock loves his music class. They spend a lot of time learning rhythms.
Norah had to create a product and a commercial for a class project. She created Spriends.
Norah built some lego sets that she's had for a couple of years but had never opened.
Jared worked on the new sink.
We went back to the park with the usable swings.
The most exciting thing of the week was Brock finally got to go horseback riding! He was so happy!
Ration Review: We had a good start for rations. Monday we got more apple strudels, super slice banana bread, and strawberry fruit cups. Wednesday was more pop tarts and Jamwiches. Gross. We also received a mystery box. It was heavy and I was so hoping for apples. No, it was filled with vegetables that we don't eat! Some of them had mold!
Friday was more Jamwiches and pop tarts, plus Cheetos Fantastix Flamin' Hot chips.

Covid-19 Break: Week 7
It's hard to believe it's been seven weeks since the Corona crisis began. Hopefully we are nearing the end and can get back to normal by the end of the month.
Brock and Norah helped Jared wash my car on Sunday afternoon. In the evening we drove to Mount Dora again and had a picnic. Then we walked on the nature trail.
We had great weather all week so Brock and Norah were able to play in the pool.
On one of our walks in a different neighborhood we found a treasure: Corian bathroom sink!
We found a new park on one of our many drives in the country. Friday night we cooked out at the park. The playgrounds were roped off but the swings were not!
Ration Review: We received copycat Uncrustables this week. They are called Jamwiches. A Jamwich is half the size of an Uncrustable, which is an improvement in my opinion. I ate one so I could compare. Even at half the size it is still too much peanut butter and I had to squeeze at least half of the peanut butter out. We received Jamwiches 4 days in a row. We also received more cheese sticks, pop tarts, chocolate muffins, Doritos Flamas, applesauce cups, and fruit cups. We love the fruit cups.
Friday turned out to be a great ration day. We received 2 new items: Pillsbury Frudels for breakfast and also mini burgers for breakfast. I guess they ran out of Frudels? For lunch it was 3 days worth of meat sticks (gross!), but we also got Goldfish crackers and oranges, which we love.

Covid-19 Break: Week 6
Sunday evening we went to the McDonald's drive thru! We hadn't eaten food from a restaurant in 6 weeks. That is a record for us. We ate at the park in Mount Dora. The playgrounds were not roped off and we thought about playing on the playground but we decided to walk down to the lake instead.
Brock and Norah camped out all week again. They enjoy staying up late and watching DVDs, reading books, and doing manners flash cards.
Norah's latest hobbies are coding mini video games and playing chess on the computer. Brock spent more time practicing piano.
Thursday we celebrated my birthday. We picked up Taco Bell, had Neopolitan cake, and I opened presents.
Ration review: Uncrustables on Monday and Tuesday. That made it 7 days in a row of Uncrustables. We also got more pop tarts and peaches. We have a ton of pop tarts.
On Wednesday we were lucky and got Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Lunch included a foil pack labeled Hamburger, but contained gross chicken nuggets. We also got carrots, which was a new item, and baked lays. One of the lunches was tortilla strips with salsa, cheese, sunflower seeds and cranberries. At least it was different.
Friday was more pop tarts for breakfast and a new item for lunch, Super Slice banana bread. The surprise extra for the week was Doritos Flamas chips. I've never heard of these. As you can see we usually receive some kind of fruit cup with lunch and breakfast. It's guaranteed that at least 2 of them will be busted and leaked all over everything else. It's because they smash everything into one plastic grocery bag and then throw several milk cartons on top. Before I get everything out on the table I have to clean off the sticky fruit juice.
We played in the backyard, rode bikes, and got out the pool. We also walked around the lake at the Fields of Fame and Amphitheater. Brock calls the Amphitheater "Vote for Mitt" because a few years ago a loser named Mitt came to town and we went to a rally there.
Last night Jared and Norah made pepperoni rolls with some of the ration cheese sticks. They were goo-ood (Cousin Eddie voice)!! We used 10 cheese sticks. We have 26 left.
