Norah's 1st Birthday Party

Last Saturday we celebrated Norah's birthday with our friends.  Daddy made the birthday cake in the shape of a number one.  Brock was excited to be having another birthday party at our house.

Decorations and cake

Jared carving the best brisket he's ever made and these are the best rolls I've ever made

Norah sat with Ms. Megan to eat her birthday lunch.  She let several people hold her during the party so maybe she is getting over her stranger anxiety.

Brock sang Happy Birthday and helped Norah blow out her candles.

Norah ate two birthday cupcakes.  Yum, yum!

Brock helped Norah open her presents.  Thank you everyone for the lovely gifts and for coming to Norah's 1st birthday party!

Happy 1st Birthday, Norah!

Norah had her one year check-up this morning.  She is 28.5 inches tall and weighs 20.2 pounds.  This is still the 25th percentile for height and 50th percentile for weight.  She was supposed to get 3 vaccines but they were out of stock so we have to go back for that next week.  She is eating a lot more food than she was a month ago.  Turkey lunchmeat is one of her favorites and she also likes strawberry bread.  Norah does not eat nearly as much as Brock and she eats very slowly.  It is hard to tell if she is done eating.  Over the holidays Norah got two new teeth and has a total of six teeth.  She LOVES taking baths in the big bathtub and kicks her legs to make waves.  Yesterday she was saying "bap bap bap" when I was getting her bath ready but she usually babbles the same sounds over and over again so I am not sure if she is trying to say "bath" or just babbling.  She thinks it is fun to tackle Brock and she still wants to play with whatever he is playing with.  When we say "yea!" she starts clapping.  Here are some pictures of her one year ago and today.  She loved her birthday cupcake and ate almost all of it.

Happy New Year!

We hope everyone had a great New Year and is keeping their resolutions.  I decided that from now on I won't even try to start mine until February.  It's hard to get started when you get back home after the new year and immediately have to start planning birthday parties.

We spent New Year's at Mimi and Boompa's house.  Brock and Norah had a nice time with their grandparents, aunt, uncles, and cousins.

It was freezing for most of the time we were away from home and we were stuck indoors.  When we got back into town it was 75 degrees.  After we unpacked so we spent time at our favorite parks.

We also had to do some major grocery shopping.  This is Norah's first time to ride in the space shuttle.  She loved it!
