Horseriding and Legoland

Horseback riding started up again on Saturday.  Brock had been looking forward to it for a long time.  He missed his horse, Lollipop, this summer.  Norah likes to play in the sand box while Brock is riding.

Afterwards we ate lunch at a cool McDonald's that has car seats!

Then we went to the Legoland water park.  We had tons of fun on the slides and in the wave pool.

Then we rode rides, played on the playgrounds, and went trick-or-treating.

The Teeth Are Coming!

Brock lost another tooth on August 9th and had a 4 teeth wide gap.

A few weeks later 3 teeth started coming in.  Here is a picture from September 15th.

First Day of Second Grade!

Yesterday was the first day of school.  Brock is in second grade this year.  He was excited to go back to school and had a great first day.

Brock Loses Another Tooth!

Here he is on Friday with his tooth barely hanging on.

The tooth came out Saturday morning at breakfast.  Now he has a super gap!

Norah Takes Swim Lessons

Norah completed her first swim class this past Thursday.  She had eight lessons.  The first two were very scary for her and she cried and did not want to do any more.  She doesn't like having water in her face.  I bought some goggles and that has helped.  She did much better her third lesson and now she likes going to swim class.  She made a friend and they are signed up to do the next set of classes together.

It's Officially Summer! Hello, Clearwater Beach!

We went to Clearwater Beach with our friends.  Norah actually played in the water this time!

Norah also had fun flying a kite and playing in the sand.  Brock stayed in the water the entire time.

The Last Days of First Grade

This is Brock on the next to last day of school which was also the last day to take a backpack to school.  He also had his class party on this day.  So, what's the point of going to school on the last day?

The class had an ice cream party and the teacher gave out awards.  Brock got an award for "always being so kind and caring."

Universal Studios

Last Saturday we went to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.  We split up for most of the day so Daddy and Brock could ride the fast, scary rides that Norah is too little for and that I don't like.  We did do a few things together: some Dr. Seuss rides, the Barney show, and the splash park.

Norah and I started our day in Dr. Seuss world.  We rode the Cat in the Hat three times, the fish ride twice, and the carousel three times.  We shopped, watched part of a show, and met some characters.  Daddy and Brock met us there after they rode some fast rides.

Next we went to the Barney show and the kids got to meet Barney!

Universal doesn't have many rides for someone Norah's size but they do have great playgrounds.  Norah especially had fun in the bouncy ball pit and the splash park.  Then at the end of the day we watched the Barney show again because it was so much fun!
