New developments
Brock did two exciting things yesterday. He said shhh, shhh, shhh over and over again. He is trying to say shoes. He put all of the pieces of his farm animals puzzle in the correct spots. I was very excited because he usually hands all of the pieces to me to put back in the puzzle. He also added a new sign for glasses.
Here is his 19 months picture.

June Vacation
Our June vacation was super busy. We traveled to Daddy's home town to visit Papa Jim and Mama Nodie and also visited friends in Wichita, Kansas. This was my first time to visit Kansas (Brock's too) so I have another state I can cross off my list.
Our first stop on our Wichita tour was the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum. The museum is in a beautiful building in downtown. Abby was our tour guide and told us all about the history of Wichita - Indian tribes, cowboys, etc. At the end of the tour one of the other historians escorted us up to the bell tower. We had to climb a lot of stairs and it reminded me of the last part of National Treasure when they are going below the church and are very close to finding the treasure. For some reason, all of the pictures of the stairs came out blurry. We went out just below the clock. It was a little scary being up that high but we saw a great view of the city.

Brock didn't go up to the tower. He took a nap instead.

Our next stop was Cowtown. It is a living history museum with old houses, church buildings, school, saloon, newpaper printing shop, etc. They even had a gun fight at the end of the day. Unfortunately I didn't get many good pictures on this trip but it was a lot of fun. Here is one good one of Brock at the one room school.

We also visited the zoo. Brock got to see lots of birds up close and one even talked to us. He also saw elephants, tigers, and zebras. I was hoping we could see lions because lions are his favorite right now, but they were hiding in the shade. The animals we were able to see up close were the gorillas. Poor little Brock fell asleep so he missed them. He loves gorillas too.

In Dumas we visited with Brock's great grandparents and Grammy and Papa. Cousins Cole and Joshua came too. We walked to Morton park, Mama Nodie's, and the library.

Brock had fun watching his shadow.

Brock has a book with a picture of space shuttle. He loves the space shuttle so it's pretty cool that there was one for him to ride on in Morton Park.

The next day we went to the parade. I thought Brock would love it because there are horses, tractors, a band, and weird cars. He fell asleep again!

After the parade we had a mini family reunion. We visited with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins that we hadn't seen in a long time. I didn't get any pictures of anybody, probably due to Brock's accident. About 30 minutes before we left Brock tried to step off the back step and he fell on his head on the concrete. It was horrible. He was crying a lot and I got very upset. Thankfully Aunt Amanda was there to help out! That was his first major boo-boo.
The day didn't get much better after that. On the drive back to Wichita we had to out run a tornado. On the flight back home we were delayed due to weather. A one hour flight turned out to be more than 4 hours. Not fun, especially since Brock and I have colds and Brock was teething. We were also starving. Brock didn't sleep at all on the flight. When we finally arrived and met our neighbor (who had been waiting at the airport for 3 hours, THANK YOU RHONDA!) Brock got so excited. He knew we were going home. The next day when he woke up he was so happy to see his toys! Vacations are great but it's also great to be home.

Brock's New Front Yard!
We finally have grass in the front yard! We planned to do the front the weekend after we did the back yard but it rained so much that the sod farm was underwater. We had an ugly dirt yard for three weeks but now it is beautiful. Daddy worked all weekend and I helped when I could. The kids across the street also came over to help. Brock loves the yard and always wants to go outside and play with the hose, leaves, and mulch. Here are a few pictures of him helping.
