Happy 1st Birthday!!!

Today is Brock's first birthday and we had a great party to celebrate. Daddy stayed up all night decorating the cake and preparing the food. We had brisket, cole slaw, potato salad, baked beans (thank you, Dave and Rhonda), rolls, and I made cookies shaped like a number 1. Brock had 30 guests come to his party. It was so much fun. Brock loved his cake. He kept eating and eating and we thought he was going to eat the whole thing. He opened presents from his friends and one from us. Late in the afternoon Grandmother, Lawrence, Phyllis, and Sara also came to visit and then Brock and I went to Cousin Pam's for supper and Daddy stayed home to catch up on sleep. When Brock and I arrived home we wanted Brock open the rest of his presents, but he was so tired that he will have to open them tomorrow.

Brock's First Halloween

Brock's first Halloween was very busy. There was a family party and trick-or-treating at Jared's office, and they had a contest for best kids' costume, best employee costume, and best jack-o-lantern. Jared's jack-o-lantern this year is a caricature of Brock and he got honorable mention. For the costume contest they had to go up on the stage and there were tons of people so it was very hard to see. I couldn't even see the winners because I am too short. Brock was very good the whole time we were there even though he was missing his nap. His eyes did start watering during the clapping for the costume winners, but he quickly composed himself. Sometimes he gets upset when there is lots of clapping. After the party we ate at Chick-fil-A and then visited our neighbor.
